Bottoms without edges
A pair of briefs gives itself away in two ways: by the edge that shows through under close-fitting trousers, and by the elastic that has pressed itself into your skin after an hour. Both come from the same choice at the factory. Briefs stitched together from separate panels have seams and applied waistbands, and you press those through your clothes.
Our bottoms are circular-knitted rather than stitched together, and the edges are laser-cut. So there is no waistband to show through and no seam to chafe. That is the whole difference, and you really only notice it at the end of the day.
Which model for what
| Model | Coverage | What for |
|---|---|---|
| LumaPure String | Minimal | Under close-fitting trousers or a skirt, when you want nothing at all to show |
| LumaPure Slip | Regular | Every day, a smooth line over the hip |
| LumaPure Short | To mid-thigh | Under dresses and skirts; also prevents thigh chafing |
| Luma Contour Slip | High waist | When you want to keep the tummy line smooth under a close-fitting outfit |
Which colour under which clothes
Under white, white is exactly what does not work. White fabric lets light through, and anything that differs in brightness from your skin will show. White is brighter than almost any skin tone. So under light clothing, choose a shade close to your own skin. If you are torn between two shades, take the darker of the two.
Which size
Take your usual size. A size down does not give a smoother line but an edge instead, because the fabric pushes the volume sideways. If you are unsure, have a look at the size advice.

Frequently asked questions
Why do my briefs show through close-fitting trousers?
Almost always because of the edge, not the size. An applied elastic waistband is a change in height, and that presses through thin fabric. Circular-knitted briefs with laser-cut edges do not have that change in height.
What colour underwear do I wear under white clothing?
A shade close to your own skin tone, so not white. White underwear is brighter than your skin and therefore stands out under thin white fabric.
Should I take a size down for a smoother line?
No. Briefs that are too small push volume towards the edges and actually make the line less even. Your usual size gives the smoothest result.
